Burgers and fries. Average food. Good cocktails. Friendly staff. Small but pleasant dining room. Could have used a few extra staff, but they worked hard to give us good service.

Ollie's is a great new addition to the village of Schuylerville. It is a veteran-owned pub serving delicious food with a variety of daily specials that round out the regular menu nicely. There were several, so I don't remember them all, but I know there was a pizza log and a couple of kinds of quesadillas, plus Monday night football beer specials. I was there early on Monday, long before the dinner rush, although I did see others starting to trickle in as our table was finishing up. The staff were all very pleasant and checked on us often for drink refills both before and after our food came. The food itself was delicious! I don't often order an appetizer, knowing it means I can't finish my meal, but we split up an order of cheese fries that were a definite repeat. Nothing fancy, but the fries were crispy and not the breaded kind (I really dislike breaded fries), and there was plenty of melted gooey cheese and a good amount of bacon. I ordered (as did everyone else at my table) a burger; in my case, the Vermont Cheddar burger. I don't often order one out anymore, as the price for them means they really have to be worth it. And this one definitely was. Cooked just as I asked (medium well), decent sized, and on a really nice bun. The house made sauce was so good that I actually dipped a couple of my onion rings in it. Next time, I will ask for an extra side of it for those. Speaking of which, the onion rings (additional uncharged just as an fyi) were also perfect; crispy, not too fat, and a good amount of them for the extra money. Hubby reported loving the tuna mac salad as well; I will just take his word on that. Overall, it was a great experience that I will be happy to repeat. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, and I can't wait to come back to try their wings.

While we didn't get a chance to eat here, it sports a hometown pub vibe. I wanted onion rings, sadly they use the same fryer for their fried fish, French fries and onion rings.
